Goat’s Rue was traditionally used for treating the plague, infectious diseases, and fevers. Today it is most noted for its galactagogue action helping nursing mothers produce breast milk. Goat’s Rue is used for diabetes because it contains the alkaloid galegine which reduces blood sugar levels.
